Falstaff

Falstaff

Music by G. Verdi

“Hilarious opera.”

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Had your mid-life crisis yet?

Sir Falstaff has. Obese, drunk, and broke, the aging knight sends identical love letters to two wealthy—and married—women at the same time. Wow, was that dumb.

An elaborate reprisal ends with Falstaff learning his lesson, expressed through the famous final fugue “Tutto nel mondo è burla”— “All the World is a Joke.”

And after this past year, full of experiences like no other, surely it must be. Perhaps we have something to learn from The Fool after all.

Based on Shakespeare’s comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor.

In Italian with English supertitles.
